Become a Patient
This page covers the practical things you need to know to book your first consultation, prepare for it, and find your way here. If anything’s still unclear after reading, please get in touch — happy to answer any questions before you book.
Booking your first consultation
The way to book a consultation is online via the Book a consultation button, which opens my practice management system. From there you can choose a time that suits you — either in person at the Technopark practice or online — and follow the prompts to complete your booking.
If you’d prefer to discuss your situation briefly before booking, or have questions you’d like to ask first, you’re welcome to get in touch via email and I’ll respond as soon as I can.
Before your visit
Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll be prompted to complete an intake questionnaire and the necessary consents in the practice management portal. About twenty to thirty minutes is usually enough.
Please upload the following to the practice management portal ahead of your visit. If only paper documents are available, upload photos or scans of these:
- Recent blood test or other investigation results, especially anything from the last year or two
- Any specialist reports or referral letters that might be relevant
In-person consultation
The practice is at Unit 5, Innovation Centre 1, 1 Meson Street, Techno Park, Stellenbosch.
Parking is available in any unreserved bay near the entrance to Innovation Centre 1. From there, follow the covered walkway to Unit 5 — my plaque is at the entrance.
Online consultation
In-person consultations are generally encouraged, but when these are not practical, we make online consultations work as well.
If you’ve booked an online consultation, the booking confirmation email will include your video meeting link. A few practical points:
- Choose a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted
- A stable internet connection is helpful; if you’re somewhere with patchy reception, let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly
- A reminder with the meeting link is sent automatically before your appointment
Fees and payment
Initial and follow-up consultation fees are listed on the home page. After each visit, you’ll receive an invoice through the practice management system. Payment is by EFT, with banking details on the invoice. Prescriptions for herbal medicines and supplements are billed separately and aren’t generally covered by medical aids. In some cases I’ll recommend additional blood tests or other investigations to clarify what’s going on or to measure progress. These are arranged through normal pathology labs and billed directly by them — costs vary depending on what’s needed and are also not typically covered by medical aids. If budget is a constraint, please let me know and we’ll work within what’s available. Naturopathic consultations are generally claimable from South African medical aids, similar to GP consultations, though specific requirements vary by scheme. Submitting a claim is something you’d handle directly with your medical aid.
Rescheduling and cancellations
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with insufficient notice or missed appointments may be billed at the full consultation rate.
Emergencies, after-hours or urgent care
My naturopathic medicine practice is not equipped to handle medical emergencies or provide after-hours or urgent medical care. If you require urgent medical care, your GP or nearest emergency medical facility is the right port of call.
